LGBTQ wedding portrait with mountain backdrop at Blue Mountain Resort

After photographing Alexis & Mekenzie’s snowy, magical engagement session at Buttermilk Falls earlier this year, I could already tell that their wedding day would be something extraordinary. And on October 25, 2025, high in the mountains at Blue Mountain Resort, these two brides made it official — becoming Mrs. & Mrs. Voglino-Whyte in a ceremony overflowing with love, emotion, and breathtaking fall views.

Their wedding combined everything we love about autumn in Northeast PA: crisp mountain air, gorgeous foliage, meaningful details, and a celebration centered entirely around their connection.

From Snowy Waterfalls to a Mountain-Top “I Do”

Seeing Alexis & Mekenzie again after their winter engagement session felt like stepping back into their story — only now, their journey had led them to the top of Blue Mountain, surrounded by family, friends, and the most stunning backdrop the Poconos can offer.

Where their engagement photos were icy, moody, and dramatic, their wedding day radiated warmth, color, and emotion. It felt like the perfect full-circle moment.

A Blue Mountain Resort Wedding Filled With Meaning

Blue Mountain Resort is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Northeast PA, offering:

🌄 sweeping mountain overlooks🍁 vibrant fall foliage✨ indoor + outdoor ceremony options🌲 endless photo locations

Alexis & Mekenzie chose the perfect time of year — late October — when the mountains turn deep gold, burnt orange, and warm red. Every portrait felt like it belonged on a cinematic movie poster.

A First Dance Set to “Work Song” by Hozier

Their first dance was set to “Work Song” by Hozier” — a choice that fit their connection perfectly. The moment they stepped onto the dance floor, it felt like time slowed. All eyes were on them, but they never once looked away from each other.

It was raw.

It was intimate.

It was real.

The kind of moment every photographer hopes to capture.

Subtle, Powerful LGBTQ Representation

While the wedding day wasn’t about labels, it was about love — and the joy of watching two women commit their lives to each other in a room filled with support and celebration.

Moments like this matter. Representation matters.

And photographing LGBTQ+ couples with authenticity, comfort, and respect will always be an honor.
